Fourteen-year-old violinist Siyoon Sung, who was admitted to Yewon School as the top-ranked entrant, is currently a first-year student at the school. She was awarded the Grand Prize in the violin division at the Sungjung Competition and made her debut as a soloist with the Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra, one of Korea’s leading orchestras. She has also won first prize at numerous major and nationally recognized competitions in Korea, including the Music Journal Competition, Music Chunchoo Competition, Kukmin Ilbo–Hansei University Competition, Nanpa Competition, Music Education News Competition, Eumyoun Competition, and the Youngsan Competition.
Internationally, she won First Prize at the ISMC, which led to her performance at the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, Germany. She was also awarded Second Prize in the Junior C Division at the Geneva Junior Music Competition (GJMC). In addition, she received the Grand Prize at the Vivace Festival Competition, was awarded a fine bow, and was selected as a featured performer at the festival’s gala concert.
Her performance experience includes a solo recital at Youngsan Yangjae Hall, the Young Artist Concert at Elim Art Center, a concerto performance at Lotte Concert Hall, and an invitation as a Rising Star at the Jeonju Vivace Chamber Music Festival. She has served as concertmaster of the Bom Junior Orchestra, leading their performance at Chebudong Hall, a Seoul-designated heritage venue, and also as concertmaster of the Yewon String Chamber Orchestra.
Siyoon is highly active in chamber music. She leads a piano quintet that won First Prize at the Seoul Chamber Music Competition and Second Prize in the Junior Division at the Jeju International Chamber Music Competition, further highlighting her leadership and collaborative musicianship.
In 2025, she was selected as a Kumho Prodigy. She currently studies under Professor Uiyoun Hong.
