따뜻한 음색과 깊이 있는 연주력이 돋보이는 플루티스트 윤문영은 예원학교와 서울예술고등학교를 수석 입학 및 졸업 후, 도미하여 커티스 음악원(Curtis Institute of Music)에서 전액 장학생으로 학사학위를 취득하였다. 이후 맨해튼 음악대학(Manhattan School of Music)에서 석사를 졸업하였으며, 서울대학교 음악대학 박사를 수료하여 전문 연주자로서의 탄탄한 기반을 마련하였다.
일찍이 금호영재콘서트 데뷔를 통해 음악적 두각을 나타내며 인정받은 그녀는 MAP International Music Competition Grand Prix(그랑프리), 음악저널 대상 및 경인음악상, 한미콩쿠르 대상을 비롯해 음악춘추, 한국음악협회, 서울대, 한양대, 가천대, 서울플루트, 국민일보·한세대, 한전아트센터 등 주요 콩쿠르에서 모두 1위를 수상하며 탁월한 음악성을 인정받았다. 더불어 로얄심포니오케스트라, 협스트링오케스트라, 경기오케스트라 등과의 협연을 통해 솔리스트로서의 면모를 보여주었으며, CBS방송 초청연주, 유니세프 초청연주, South Fallsburg 초청연주, 젊은이의 음악제 등 다양한 무대를 가지며 호평을 받았다.
세계적인 거장 Simon Rattle, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Fabio Luisi, Michael Tilson Thomas, 등의 지휘 아래 Carnegie Hall, Berliner Philharmoniker, Musikverein, Lincoln Center 등 세계 주요 무대에서 오케스트라 및 실내악 연주에 참여하였으며, Pacific Music Festival과 하와이대학교 초청 마스터 클래스를 통해 국제적인 역량을 발휘하였다. 국내에서도 예술의전당, 롯데콘서트홀, 세종문화회관 등에서 다채로운 연주를 선보이며 관객들과 꾸준히 소통하고 있다.
뉴욕 'TON' 오케스트라 수석을 역임한 그녀는 고양시교향악단, 뉴서울필하모닉 수석 및 서울오케스트라 솔리스트로 활동하였으며, 서울시립교향악단, 코리안챔버오케스트라(KCO), TIMF앙상블, 디토오케스트라 등에서 객원 수석 및 단원으로 활동하며 오케스트라 연주자로서의 입지를 굳건히 하였다.
연주 활동뿐만 아니라 학술 연구도 꾸준히 하고 있으며, 연구 논문으로는 ‘19세기 낭만주의 음악과 문학의 관련성에 대한 연구 – 라이네케 「운디네」를 중심으로’, '힌데미트의 「Sonata for Flute and Piano」에 대한 악곡 분석 연구 신고전주의적 특징을 중심으로’ 등이 있으며, KCI 등재학술지에 게재되었다.
학문적 깊이와 더불어 교육적 역량을 바탕으로 서울교육대학교 외래교수, 가천대학교 객원교수를 역임하였고, 선화예술중학교, 계원예술중학교, 경기예술고등학교, 가천대학교 예술영재교육원 등에 출강하며 교육자로서의 기반을 다져왔다.
현재 국립심포니오케스트라 단원과 한국플루트협회 이사로 활동 중이며, 세종대학교 겸임교수로서 후학 양성에 힘쓰고 있다.
Flutist Moonyoung Yoon, celebrated for her warm tone and profound musicality, graduated with top honors from Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School. She then moved to the United States to attend the Curtis Institute of Music as a full-scholarship recipient, where she earned her Bachelor of Music. She continued her studies at the Manhattan School of Music, receiving a Master of Music, and completed her doctoral coursework at Seoul National University, establishing a solid foundation as a professional performer.
Early in her career, she demonstrated exceptional talent through her debut at the Kumho Prodigy Concert. She has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including the Grand Prix at the MAP International Music Competition, the Eumak Chunchu, the Music Association of Korea, and first prizes at Seoul National University, Hanyang University, and Gachon University competitions. As a soloist, she has performed with the Royal Symphony, Hyup String Orchestra, and Gyeonggi Orchestra, and has been invited to perform at various prestigious venues including UNICEF benefit concerts and the Young Artist Music Festival.
Under the baton of world-renowned conductors such as Simon Rattle, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and Fabio Luisi, Ms. Yoon has participated in orchestral and chamber music performances at legendary venues including Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic, Musikverein, and Lincoln Center. Furthermore, she expanded her international reach through the Pacific Music Festival tour and an invitation to lead master classes at the University of Hawaii. Locally, she continues to engage with audiences through diverse performances at major venues such as the Seoul Arts Center, Lotte Concert Hall, and Sejong Center.
Her orchestral career is equally distinguished. Having served as the Principal Flutist of the ‘The Orchestra Now’ (TON) in New York, she went on to serve as Principal for the Goyang Philharmonic and New Seoul Philharmonic. She has also performed as a Guest Principal and member for the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Korean Chamber Orchestra (KCO), TIMF Ensemble, and Ditto Orchestra, further solidifying her reputation as a top-tier orchestral musician.
Beyond the stage, she is an active scholar whose research on Reinecke and Hindemith has been published in KCI-accredited journals. Leveraging her academic depth and pedagogical expertise, she has served as a Lecturer at Seoul National University of Education and a Visiting Professor at Gachon University. She has also dedicated herself to nurturing young talent through her teaching positions at Sunhwa Arts Middle School, Kaywon Arts Middle School, and Gyeonggi Arts High School.
Currently, Moonyoung Yoon is a Member of the Korean National Symphony Orchestra and serves as a Member of the Board of the Korea Flute Association. She is also a Combined Professor at Sejong University, where she continues to focus on mentoring the next generation of musicians.
