양준석은 더블베이시스트이자 작곡가로, 배재고등학교를 졸업하고 연세대학교 관현악과에서 더블베이스를 전공하였다. 이후 경희대학교 교육대학원에서 음악교육을 전공하며, 연주와 창작, 교육을 유기적으로 아우르는 음악적 정체성을 확장해 나가고 있다.
해외파견콩쿠르를 비롯해 한국음악협회, 음악교육신문사, 음악저널 주최의 다수 콩쿠르에서 입상하며 연주자로서의 기량을 공고히 해왔으며, 오케스트라 연주자로서는 국립심포니오케스트라, 평창국제음악제 오케스트라, 청주시립교향악단, 목포시립교향악단, 천안시립교향악단 등과 함께하며 폭넓은 무대 경험을 쌓아왔다.
현재 앙상블 멜로바스(melo_Bass)의 전담 작곡가이자 연주자로 활동하며, 더블베이스 앙상블을 위한 창작 레퍼토리를 지속적으로 선보이고 있다. 또한 SK이노베이션이 주관한 제7회 전국 발달장애인 음악축제 GMF에서 대상을 수상한 파라솔 클라리넷 앙상블의 작품을 담당 작곡가로 함께하며, 음악의 사회적 가치와 확장 가능성을 실천해 왔다.
이와 더불어 서울시립교향악단과 협력한 미라클(美樂 Classic) 서울 : 고궁의 심장 프로젝트에 작곡 및 음악 제작으로 참여하였으며, 서울대학교, 한국예술종합학교, 연세대학교 등에서 열린 단일 악기 앙상블 무대를 위한 창작 작품을 제공해 왔다.
양준석은 연주자의 시선에서 출발한 작곡을 통해 무대와 교육 현장을 연결하며, 음악이 지닌 표현력과 소통의 가능성을 지속적으로 확장해 나가고 있다.
Yang Joon Seok is a double bassist and composer based in South Korea. He graduated from Paichai High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Orchestral Music (Double Bass) from Yonsei University. He is currently completing his Master’s degree in Music Education at Kyung Hee University Graduate School of Education, further developing his artistic identity as a performer, composer, and educator.
As a performer, he has received prizes in numerous competitions organized by the Korea Music Association, Music Education Newspaper, Music Journal, and overseas-dispatched competitions. He has appeared as a guest musician with leading orchestras including the National Symphony Orchestra of Korea, PyeongChang International Music Festival Orchestra, Cheongju Philharmonic Orchestra, Mokpo Philharmonic Orchestra, and Cheonan Philharmonic Orchestra.
Alongside his performance career, Yang is the resident composer and performer of the double bass ensemble melo_Bass, creating original works that expand the expressive and ensemble possibilities of the instrument. He also served as the principal composer for the Parasol Clarinet Ensemble, winner of the Grand Prize at the 7th National Music Festival for Musicians with Developmental Disabilities (GMF) hosted by SK Innovation.
His compositional work extends to large-scale collaborative projects, including participation as a composer and music creator in Miracle (美樂 Classic) Seoul: The Heart of the Palace, a project in collaboration with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, his works have been featured in single-instrument ensemble concerts at institutions such as Seoul National University, Korea National University of Arts, and Yonsei University.
Through his work, Yang Joon Seok seeks to bridge performance, composition, and education—exploring music as a living language that connects performers, students, and audiences.
