(EN) The Korean soprano Heekyung Park will be a member of the Opera Studio at Daegu Opera House for the 2025 season. In December 2024, she performed the role of Rosina in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Gwanjeo Culture and Arts Center in Daejeon. In July 2024, she made her debut at the Marvão International Music Festival in Portugal, singing Blonde in Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail with the Köln Kammer Orchestra, conducted by Christoph Poppen. She has also performed as a soloist with the Daejeon Art Philharmonic Orchestra and the Jubelton Symphony Orchestra in outreach concerts.
Earlier that year, she was selected as a Young Artist for the Daejeon Arts Center Spring Festival, where she performed in the “Bach Abend” recital. She was also chosen as a Young Artist for Stageone Management’s project in Korea. Park began her vocal training at Mokwon University, where she studied from 2015 to 2019, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Studies under Prof. Phill Suh and Prof. Namyoung Kim. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she was awarded a merit-based scholarship for academic excellence for four consecutive years.
In 2023, she completed her Master’s degree in Opera and Music Theater at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, studying with Prof. Barbara Bonney and Prof. Elisabeth Wilke in the vocal department and Prof. Gernot Sahler and Prof. Alexander von Pfeil in the opera class. During her studies, she was awarded a scholarship for the 2022/23 winter semester and took part in masterclasses with Andrew Watts, Luca Pianca, and John Thomason.
Her opera roles at the Mozarteum university included Cupid/Minerva (Orpheus in der Unterwelt), Drusilla (L’incoronazione di Poppea), Miss Wordsworth (Albert Herring), and Despina (Così fan tutte). Park’s earlier opera engagements in Korea include Adele (Die Fledermaus), Valencienne (The Merry Widow, English version), and Margherita (Mefistofele).
In 2023, she was a chorus member in Wagner’s Tannhäuser at the Salzburg Easter Festival. A prize-winning soprano, Park won third prize (shared) at the 4th Aulus International Music Competition (2024), first prize at the 2nd Korean American Music Association International Competition (2019), and first prize at the 21st Educlassic Competition (2020).
(KR) 소프라노 박희경은 목원대학교 음악대학교에서 4년 동안 장학금을 수혜하며 서 필 교수와 김남영 교수를 사사로 졸업하였다. 2019년 제2회 Korean American Music Association(KAMA) 국제 성악 콩쿠르에서 1등, 2020년 제21회 에듀 클래식 콩쿠르에서 1등, 2024년 제 4회 아울러서 국제콩쿨에서 공동3등을 수상했다.
학부 재학 시절 정기연주회에서 요한 슈트라우스의 오페레타 ‘박쥐’에서 아델레 역을, 프란츠 레하르의 오페레타 ‘유쾌한 미망인’에서 발렌시엔느 역을, 아리고 보이토의 오페라 ‘메피스토펠레’에서 마르게리타 역을 맡았다.
학부 졸업 이후 그녀는 오스트리아 잘츠부르크에 위치한 모차르테움 국립음악대학교 오페라과 석사과정에서 Barbara Bonney와 Elisabeth Wilke를 사사하였고, 지휘자 Gernot Sahler와 연출가 Alexander Von Pfeil과 함께 모차르테움 오페라 프로젝트 중 자크 오펜바흐의 오페레타 ‘지옥의 오르페’에서 큐피트와 미네르바 역을, 클라우디오 몬테베르디의 오페라 ‘포페아의 대관식’에서 드루질라 역을, 벤자민 브리튼의 오페라 ‘알버트 헤링’에서 미스 워즈워스 역을, 모차르트 오페라 ‘코지 판 투테’에서 데스피나 역을 맡았다.
또한 다양한 국제무대에서의 경험을 위해 Bachchor Salzburg의 단원으로서 잘츠부르크 부활절 페스티벌, 바그너의 오페라 ‘탄호이저’에 참여하였고, 그 후 2023년 9월부터 ‘성악 예찬’ 예비예술인 발굴 육성 프로그램에 발탁되어 약 4개월간의 커리큘럼을 이수한 후, 고양아람누리에서 오페라 갈라 콘서트를 하였으며, 또한 2024년 4월, 대전 예술의 전당 스프링페스티벌의 ‘바흐 아벤트’ 신진 예술가로 선발되어 리사이틀 연주 마치고, 그녀는 2024년 7월, 포르투갈에서 개최된 제10회 마르바옹 국제음악 페스티벌에서 지휘자 Christoph Poppen과 함께 모차르트 오페라 ‘후궁으로부터의 도주’의 블론데 역으로 유럽 무대 데뷔를 성공리에 마쳤다.
또한 대전 아트 필하모닉 오케스트라와 찾아가는 연주회를 비롯하여, 대전 예술의 전당에서 시인 정호승의 인문학 콘서트 및 유벨톤 오케스트라 송년음악회 등 다양한 협연무대 뿐만 아니라 대전 관저문예회관에서 로시니의 오페라 ‘세빌리야 이발사’에서 로지나역을 맡아 공연하였다.
그녀는 2025년 4월부터 대구오페라하우스의 오페라 스튜디오 단원으로서 꾸준한 음악활동을 이어갈 예정이다.
