Baritone Minsoo Ahn is a highly accomplished artist who entered the vocal department of the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) in 2009. Studying under Mezzo-Soprano KS Gabriele Sima (Kammersängerin of the Vienna State Opera), he completed both his Bachelor’s degree and subsequent Master’s program in Opera Performance with highest distinction. Based primarily in Vienna, he has sustained a vigorous career as an opera soloist, appearing in numerous major repertoire roles, including Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte, Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, and Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress. He has demonstrated exceptional versatility by participating as the baritone soloist in two major contemporary music festivals: Wolfgang Liebhart’s opera Edenarabeske at Wien Modern and Beat Furrer’s opera La Bianca Notte at Klangspuren, both of which earned him critical praise.
Mr. Ahn has successfully performed ‘Don Profondo’ in Rossini’s Il viaggio a Reims at MuTh and delivered a compelling performance as ‘Nick Shadow’ in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress at Theater Akzent. Notably, he was selected as the sole Korean principal for the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra Sommerakademie opera projects across four venues (Konzerthaus Vienna, Odeion Theater Salzburg, Musikverein Graz, and Brucknerhaus Linz), debuting as ‘Don Alfonso’ in Cosi fan tutte and ‘Figaro’ in Le nozze di Figaro. Additionally, he has garnered high praise for his principal opera roles throughout Europe, including ‘Marcello’ in La Bohème, ‘Alfio’ in Cavalleria Rusticana, ‘Tonio’ in I Pagliacci, and ‘Leporello’ in Don Giovanni.

In October 2025, Baritone Minsoo Ahn made a successful and momentous debut in the title role of ‘Holländer’ in Wagner’s opera Der fliegende Holländer, presented by the Salzburg Landestheater at the Felsenreitschule, a key venue of the Salzburg Festival. Concert and Competition Highlights
As a sacred music soloist, he has collaborated annually since 2013 with the Soloists of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra for the Advent Concerts at St. Stephen’s Cathedral
(Stephansdom) in Vienna. He also achieved a successful debut as the soloist for Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana in Merano and Silandro, Italy. As a recitalist, he has sung at the Beethoven Festival at the Lehár-Schikaneder-Schlössl in Vienna. He has appeared with numerous distinguished orchestras, including the Mozarteum Orchestra, Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra Summer Academy, Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Bad Reichenhaller Philharmoniker, and Thüringen Philharmonie. His performances have graced prestigious European concert halls such as the Wiener Musikverein, Margravial Opera House Bayreuth, Wiener Konzerthaus, and Brucknerhaus Linz.
Mr. Ahn has secured several top prizes in international competitions, beginning with the Fidelio Competition in Vienna (2014, Winner). This was followed by the 16th Osaka International Music Competition (2015, 1st Prize and Special Prize), the 2nd Giangiacomo Guelfi International Vocal Competition in Italy (2015, 1st Prize), and the Gabriela Benackova International Vocal Competition in the Czech Republic (2021, 1st Prize and
Special Prize). He also received the Special Award for Contemporary Music Interpretation at the 26th Brahms International Competition in Austria (2019).
Baritone Minsoo Ahn is the first Asian to have served as a vocal instructor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW). He currently maintains an active performance schedule throughout Europe and South Korea.

바리톤 안민수는 2025년 10월, 잘츠부르크 란데스테아터 기획으로 잘츠부르크 페스티벌 전용 극장인 펠젠라이트슐레에서 Wagner의 오페라 Der fliegende Holländer의 타이틀 롤 인 ‘Holländer’ 역으로 기념비적인 데뷔 무대를 성공적으로 마쳤다.
연주 및 수상 경력 교회음악 솔리스트로서 오스트리아 빈의 심장부 **슈테판 대성당(Stephansdom)**에서 비 엔나 챔버 오케스트라 솔리스트(Solisten des Wiener Kammerorchesters)와 2013년부터 매년 강림절 콘서트에 협연하고 있으며, 이탈리아에서 카를 오르프의 Carmina Burana 솔리스트로 성공적인 데뷔를 이루었다.
그는 독창 콘서트 연주자로서 모차르테움 오케스트라(Mozarteum Orchester), 빈 필하모닉 오케스트라 Summer Academy, 야나첵 필하모닉 오케스트라(Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra), 비엔나 챔버 오케스트라(Wiener Kammerorchester), 바트 라이헨할러 필하모니 오케스트라(Bad Reichenhaller Philharmoniker), 튀링엔 필하모니 오케스트라(Thüringen Philharmonie) 등 다수의 저명 오케스트라와 협연하였다. 비엔나 무직페어라인, 바이로이트 마르크그라프 오페라하우스, 비엔나 콘서트하우스, 린츠 브루크너하우스 등 유럽 주요 무대에서 활약하였다. 국제 콩쿠르에서도 두각을 나타내 2014년 빈 ‘피델리오 콩쿠르’ 우승을 시작으로, 2015년 오사카 국제 음악 콩쿠르 1위 및 특별상, 2015년 이탈리아 ‘Giangiacomo Guelfi 국제 성악 콩쿠르’ 1위, 2021년 체코 ‘Gabriela Benackova 국제 성악 콩쿠르’ 1위 및 특별상 등 최고의 성적을 거두었다. 또한 2019년 오스트리아 ‘브람스 국제 콩쿠르’ 현대곡 해석 특별상을 수상하였다. 빈 국립 음대에서 아시아인 최초 성악 강사를 역임한 그는 현재 유럽과 한국에서 활발하게 활동을 펼치고 있다.
